20 Questions to ask when choosing your venue.

As you are shopping for the wedding venue of your dreams, you are no doubt going to have many questions along the way.  It is often helpful to have a list of questions written out in advance of your tour so that you will not forget any of the important things to bring up.  Inevitably, there will be something you will forget to ask, so to prevent a lot of back-and-forth with questions to the venue sales manager, we have listed out 20 helpful questions to ask when touring your potential wedding venue’s.

  1. When is the space available? Is the calendar open on (or around) my target date?
  2. What is the cost/price?   What other fee’s can I expect to be added on to the total?
  3. What is included in the rental? (Tables, chairs, decor lighting, etc)
  4. Is parking free?
  5. Is there a rain back up space in case of bad weather? (for outdoor areas)
  6. Do you offer catering and beverage service?
  7. How long do we have for set up and break down?
  8. Will there be an opportunity to schedule a ceremony rehearsal?
  9. What time can we enter the venue?
  10. What time must we end the event?
  11. Are extra hours an option?
  12. If so, is there an extra charge for the additional hours? How much?
  13. Will we be the only group in the building or will other events be happening, too?
  14. Will you have carts to help us load in decor items?
  15. When is deposit and final payment due?
  16. Do you have decor restrictions?
  17. Do you have any vendor restrictions?
  18. Are there any nearby hotels that offer shuttle service for out of town guests?
  19. Who will be my contact person the day of the event?
  20. When do you require all of my decor items removed from the event space?  (Night of the event or next morning)
